Executive Head: Regulatory Strategy
Ellie Sharples is responsible for Nedbank Private Wealth’s regulatory strategy, ensuring that the business continues to navigate the changing regulatory environment.
Ellie is an experienced financial services executive with more than 35 years in regulation, compliance, governance, and strategic leadership. She has held senior roles across both public and private sectors, including with the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC), Royal Bank of Canada, Crestbridge Limited, and Citibank Channel Islands.
As Director of Relationship Managed Supervision at the JFSC, Ellie led oversight of high-risk financial entities and represented the regulator in engagements with government and international bodies, contributing to Jersey’s successful Moneyval evaluation. Her earlier roles included leading strategic initiatives at Royal Bank of Canada and overseeing governance and operations at Citibank’s International Personal Bank.
Recognised for her pragmatic leadership and regulatory expertise, Ellie brings extensive experience in risk management, organisational governance, and cultural transformation. She holds the CISI Investment Advice Diploma.
