We’re an execution-only desk, and we speak to private clients and intermediaries. I manage the team of eight dealers, and we have a full suite of experienced dealers on the team.
Every day is different. We take trades via telephone, over Qwil, which is an instant messaging service that we’ve recently introduced. The clients like the human touch with our team. They can pick the phone up if they’re not sure about something.
They can ask the question. One of our dealers will pick up the line, assist if they’ve got any questions about liquidity, pricing of a particular asset. It’s not a chatbot they’re speaking to. They’re actually speaking to one of the dealers on the team, so it’s a very personal service.
There can be acronyms and dealing lingo. So we make it more client-friendly, so they do understand what we’re talking about and not abbreviate.
If a chat comes in, it’s assigned to an individual dealer so that the client knows who they’re talking to. Obviously, they can put an instruction there or just ask for a general question. They’ll have a response within less than a minute.
Gives client comfort that not everything’s done by a machine. I think it’s a blend of using technology and the human insight.
Our clients can rest easy that their orders are checked and looked after.
They know that the team care about their trades. I think that they’re confident that the team has their best interests at heart.
