We are looking for a Private Banking Officer to join our busy team within our London office.  The successful candidate will provide support across the UK Private Banking team to deliver outstanding client service and create time for our Private Bankers by taking responsibility for the delivery of client related tasks.

 

Private Banking Officers add value by assisting Private Bankers with the administrative tasks resulting from client interactions. Examples include preparing the documentation required for client meetings, composing file notes when attending client meetings, preparing investment & credit proposals and compiling annual reviews. 

 

This role would ideally suit a graduate with 2 to 3 years’ experience in Private Banking or Wealth Management, someone who is ready to pursue further qualifications and extensive continual development in order to progress in their career in Wealth.  The ideal candidate will assist in the proactive development of existing client relationships, liaise with the wider Nedbank Private Wealth teams to the ensure smooth handling of intermediary clients, assist with the on-boarding of clients introduced by Private Bankers. Work within the closely regulated regime prepare investment proposals and all supporting documentation for existing and potential clients

Role Specific details

  • Assist in the proactive development of existing client relationships
  • Undertake client-related initiatives and projects as and when required
  • Within the closely regulated regime prepare investment proposals and all supporting documentation for existing and potential clients
  • Collect all relevant supporting information and documentation, and prepare credit proposals for existing and potential clients assisting with the management of any risks that the Bank faces as a result of providing finance
  • Assist with the on-boarding of clients introduced by Private Bankers
  • Liaise with the wider Nedbank Private Wealth teams to the ensure client service
  • Prepare and participate in client periodic reviews, incorporating annual investment and lending reviews where appropriate
  • Support the Private Banker in renewal of existing lending business, liaising with the client, lending team and PB to ensure successful credit approval attained prior to expiry.
  • When acting as a secondary contact for clients, maintain a high level of service in relation to banking, investments, fiduciary and credit:  to include cross selling other services offered by the Bank or other parts of the Nedbank Group
  • Undertake such other tasks as the bank may require from time to time
  • Comply with the provisions of the Bank’s ongoing Training and Competence policy
  • Obtain and maintain relevant professional qualifications to undertake the role in line with prevailing regulation
  • Undertake continuous professional development to keep up to date with developments within the industry and comply with the provisions of the Bank’s ongoing Training and Competence policy 

 

Qualifications

  • Attained a level 4 Investment qualification appropriate for the role and that meets current regulatory standards
  • Attained a level 4 Lending qualification appropriate for the role and that meets current regulatory standards, ideally CeMap

 

Technical Skills and Experience

  • At least two years’ experience in wealth management
  • Member of an appropriate professional institute
